You may have seen headlines about a federal hemp law. In November 2025, a federal funding bill (H.R. 5371) was signed into law that adjusts how hemp and hemp-derived cannabinoids are defined at the federal level. It's important to know that this law is not yet in effect, its provisions are not scheduled to begin until late 2026, and lawmakers in both chambers of Congress have already introduced legislation that could delay or amend it.

In short, nothing has changed today, there is a long runway before anything would, and the situation is still very much in motion. We're monitoring it closely and preparing well ahead of any deadline.

The earliest the federal provisions would take effect is late 2026, roughly a year after the law was enacted. Until then, everything remains available as usual, and we're using this window to prepare, including developing new and reformulated options so your routine can continue no matter how the rules evolve.

The law changes how THC is defined and measured in finished hemp products. Under the new standard, a final hemp-derived product may contain no more than 0.3% total THC or 0.4mg of total THC per container. This is a stricter standard than the previous rule, and it applies to total THC rather than delta-9 alone. As a result, many products with measurable THC, including some full spectrum products, could be affected.

The law focuses on hemp-derived products designed to be ingested or inhaled that contain measurable THC above the new limits.

This means only a select portion of our lineup could be affected, while the majority of our products, including our broad spectrum, functional mushroom, and hemp-free wellness options, would remain available.

No. Industrial hemp and non-intoxicating hemp products are not being banned. The changes focus specifically on hemp-derived products with measurable THC, which means the majority of our lineup, including our broad spectrum, functional mushroom, and hemp-free wellness products, remains available.

The law has been enacted, but lawmakers in both chambers of Congress and on both sides of the aisle have introduced additional legislation that could delay the federal restrictions. This remains an evolving situation, and we will update this page as things develop.

No. Hemp and marijuana come from the same plant species, Cannabis sativa, but they are treated differently under federal law. Hemp has been federally legal under specific THC standards, while marijuana is federally illegal.

The recent changes adjust how hemp-derived THC is defined and measured, which is why certain products are affected.

Beginning July 20, 2026, Green Compass can no longer ship our full spectrum products or any SIX products to California addresses, due to a new California law, Senate Bill 378 (SB-378).

The good news is that all of our remaining products can still ship to California without issue, and for those affected, we recommend our Broad Spectrum Daily Nano Jellies as a great alternative.

SB-378 is a California law that holds online retailers legally and financially responsible for selling what the state defines as an "intoxicating hemp product," including any hemp product containing detectable amounts of THC.

Because our full spectrum products and our entire SIX range contain detectable THC, they fall under this restriction and can no longer be shipped to California.

The following full spectrum and THC products are affected:

Full spectrum products contain detectable amounts of THC, which is what SB-378 restricts. Broad spectrum products offer a similar experience without the detectable THC, which allows us to continue shipping them to California addresses.

Due to a new hemp reclassification in Texas, we can no longer ship our Unwind THC Nano Jellies to Texas addresses.

This affects just one product in our lineup, and the rest of our range, including great alternatives for sleep support, remains available to ship to Texas as usual.

Texas has restricted the sale of products containing delta-8 THC and other similar hemp-derived cannabinoids. Our Unwind THC Nano Jellies contain a small amount of delta-8 THC, which places them under this restriction. As a result, we are unable to ship them to Texas addresses.

If you're subscribed to Unwind THC Nano Jellies with a Texas shipping address, your subscription will be affected by this change.

On August 23, 2026, all active Unwind THC Nano Jellies subscription with a shipping location in Texas will be cancelled.

North Carolina is considering a bill, House Bill 328, that would regulate the sale of hemp-derived consumable products in the state. If it passes as written, some of our products would no longer be able to ship to North Carolina.

Nothing has changed yet, the majority of our lineup would remain available regardless, and we're preparing alternatives so your routine can continue no matter the outcome.

House Bill 328 is proposed North Carolina legislation that would regulate hemp-derived consumable products, including provisions that would restrict ingestible hemp products containing cannabinoids other than delta-9 THC. If it becomes law, products that fall under these restrictions would no longer be permitted to ship to North Carolina addresses.

If House Bill 328 is enacted as written, the following products would be affected:

• Full Spectrum Tinctures – 1000mg (Cinnamon, Fresh Mint, Natural)

Because House Bill 328 defines restricted products very broadly, including ingestible hemp products that contain cannabinoids other than delta-9 THC, the full scope of what would be affected is still not entirely clear.

Our Broad Spectrum products may remain available to ship to North Carolina addresses, but depending on how the law is interpreted and enforced, the restrictions could potentially reach a wider range of products than those listed above.

We are reviewing the bill closely and will update this information as we learn more. If the bill passes, we will notify affected customers directly with the most accurate details on what is and isn't available.

If the bill passes and you're subscribed to an affected product with a North Carolina shipping address, your subscription would be impacted.

Where a Broad Spectrum equivalent is available, we would aim to swap your subscription automatically so your routine can continue uninterrupted. For products without a compliant equivalent, affected subscriptions would be cancelled.
